Olympic Torch Comes To Ware

July 10th 2012

Saturday 7 July saw the Olympic Torch Relay come to the home town of Leaside Turned Parts. Despite some typical British weather crowds of around 20,000 people lined the streets of Ware to cheer on the 5 torchbearers.
After the Torch Relay there were activities all day including a Ware Carnival Parade, the Boat Parade and the Town Fair. There was a brilliant turnout with colourful floats and boats, great arena acts and stalls raising money for local organisations and Ware’s three carnival charities, Oasis, Friends of Ware Lido and Dickensian Evening.
